“Ian cooks fantastic fresh local produce, making it my ideal holiday – Self -catering flexibility with a treat 3 nights a week when you are served up a tasty meal which is very hard to beat!”
“From our first meeting, Sara and Ian made us feel at home in their beautiful Farmhouse. As chef Ian turned out mouth-watering meals, each one more splendid than the last”

Chef Ian at Le Chevrefeuille is delighted to offer beautifully cooked evening meals using only the best fresh local produce. The Perigord Noir is known as the gastronomic capital of France so whilst you are here why not book in for a sample of the lovely food this region has to offer.

Dinner consists of a table d’hote (set) menu of four courses for Euros 33 per adult, 17.50 for children (children classed as 14 yrs old and under, children under 3 eat free) and is served in our magnificent courtyard. We will happily provide a vegetarian option.

We offer 5 tables on our terrace with a maximum number of 18 persons. Out of season when the weather is cooler, we serve our meals in the salon on a communal table and have a maximum capacity of 16 persons. We book these places on a first come, first serve basis so if you would like to ensure your place for the evening meal in high season, we recommend that you reserve this with your accommodation reservation.  This can be done online with your booking, selecting an evening meal as an optional extra which will reserve you one evening meal on the first available evening or our multiple option meal plan, which will reserve you the evening meal on every cook night of your visit. This will automatically reserve places for all members of your party, so if you wish to reduce the number for dinner, ie exclude your children, please state this in the special requirements section of your booking.

Please note that we do not provide “children’s’ menus’, Our menus are tasty, lovingly prepared and balanced aimed at general tastes, They consist of meat or fish and vegetables but no pasta, chips or burgers are offered.

Le Chevrefeuille Cookery School

We are delighted to offer our guided market visit or one day cookery course with Ian every Tuesday throughout the year between April and October excluding July and August.

Ian trained as a chef at Le Talbooth restaurant in Suffolk England and has a real passion for food, this was one of the deciding factors in moving our family to the Dordogne, which is renowned as the gastronomic capital of France. The Perigord Noir is famous for its foie gras, truffles, confit de canard, walnuts, geese, magret de canard, cabecous goats cheese, cepes, sanglier, venison, escargot etc.

The local markets are bursting with ingredients and inspiration and whilst here, you can have the opportunity to participate on either a guided market visit with Ian (9 to 11am) or a one day cookery experience packed with flavour and fun (9am to 4pm). For more information please go to our cookery course page.

Food? Fantastic! We ate at Le Chevrefeuille each of the four evenings that Ian cooked while we were there and every meal was different and delicious – I didn’t know the French custom is to eat the cheese course before the dessert but I forced myself to comply!!

Food superb and loads of it so even ravenous boys were completely full up at dinner and breakfast. Veggie options were inventive and top notch

Ian is a great gourmet cook and we voted our meal at Le Chèvrefeuille as one of our best in France

The food is plentiful and always fresh. Ian’s cooking is worth staying for alone. Traditionally rustic in style, we were present when some of the local people came round to dine and they had nothing but compliments for the food – not often the case when the French get to critique an English chef!
